1-3-9-2 DLM Model

1-3-9-2 DLM Model :  1 Facilitator connects minimum 3 Tutors teaching minimum 9 students and finally creates two new Facilitators

To spread general as well as digital literacy amongst underprivileged section of the society, one can follow this 1-3-9-2 DLM model.

EIGHT steps to be followed to implement 1-3-9-2 DLM Model:
  1. Talk to your daily service providers (maids, drivers, care takers, etc) and get confirmation from them for sending their kids for free home tuition
  2. Identify a "1 hour" tuition-time suitable in your busy schedule for offering home tuition. Typically tuition-time can be selcted from time slots of (A) 6:30 am to 8:30 am, (B) 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, (C) 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm or (D) 6:30pm to 8:30pm. For working persons (A & D) are suitable, whereas for non-working the slots are (B & C)
  3. Maintain regularity in teaching. Take tuition professionally, only for one hour, 5 days a week.
  4. Organise/Participate in weekly meetings on Sunday with other DLM tutors and students and share experiences
  5. Organise/Participate in monthly meetings with DLM facilitators, tutors and students. Arrange interactive programmes like toy making (http://www.arvindguptatoys.com/films.html ), film shows, paintings, science talks, etc.
  6. Offer/organise free computer training for DLM tutors and facilitators
  7. Monitor students' performance and update DLM facilitators, tutors and students' database.
  8. Make at least two facilitators enthusiastic to initiate this 1-3-9-2 Model.
